Join us at Ulna Studio for an Deeper Drawing Workshop with Lettie Jane Rennenkamp.
This class is for artists who want to go deeper with their drawing practice. It is offered in the style of an Independent Study, where artists bring in a project they would like to explore and we provide the space and support to make that happen. We watch your art unfold, sometimes in unexpected and exciting ways. This simple container of accountability and feedback can offer radical shifts in your artwork.
This class is open to almost any two-dimensional material: acrylic or oil paint, watercolor, chalk pastel, colored pencil, markers, collage, pen and ink, and even some light 3D explorations.
Lettie Jane will offer her insight around materials, craft and composition, and the students will steer the projects. Be prepared to bring your own materials, a rough idea of a drawing or painting project you’d like to pursue and a willingness to experiment along the way. We will provide weekly feedback, time and space to work, the Ulna still-life collection and the ability to play with some of our studio materials.
This is a great course if you are yearning for creative community and accountability. If you have played with all the materials in Intuitive Drawing and just want to spend a few weeks delving into watercolor, or abstract art, this is the class for you.
About the instructor:
Lettie Jane Rennekamp is an illustrator and artist based in Portland, Oregon by way of Kentucky. Her illustrations are bold and tender at the same time, depicting motherhood, varying versions of gender expression, community, and nature all together. About the new classroom space:
Ulna studio is a creative space located on the 2nd floor of the Portland Storage Building at 215 SE Morrison st. There is elevator access or the option to use the stairs.
