Description

In this special 2-day workshop, we welcome Canadian guest artist Jai Sallay-Carrington to Radius! Jai will be demonstrating how to build a human torso with an animal head using the slab-building technique. Participants will focus on body proportions, adding either clothing or a naked form, and crafting expressive hands to personalize their creations. Jai will guide attendees through shaping and assembling a torso, paying special attention to anatomical details that bring life and character to each piece. The class offers creative freedom in designing either realistic or stylized torsos, and Jai will go over your many options for surface treatments before and after the firing.

All supplies included. Radius will bisque fire one torso per student. Bisque-fired pieces will be available for pickup during open studio hours from May 1st to May 18th.
