Description
This is a two day in-person workshop, accessible to folks who are brand new to drawing, revisiting an old skill or for those who have a robust drawing practice looking for a new perspective. In this workshop we will explore techniques for building realistic images on paper with charcoal and graphite, from both observation and photographs.
The first class will work primarily with learning techniques for building interesting and engaging compositions, exploring various tools and techniques for creating accurate proportion, perspective, and line drawings as a strong foundation from which to build upon. The second class will focus on bringing the line drawings to life through rendering techniques, building up layers and balancing values to bring fullness to our drawings.
Drawing from observation teaches you to look at and see the world around you in a deeper way, it is an inherently meditative and mindful practice, and I am excited to share some of my personal, representational drawing practices with you all.
