Description
Join us for a fun-filled afternoons of creativity with clay and other mediums at Radius Art Studio’s Youth Clay Classes! Our camp is designed to ignite the artistic spark in young minds and provide a hands-on experience in the world of clay, and related mediums.
In this session, we welcome kids ages 9-13. We will dive into ceramic arts learning the basics of both arts wheel throwing and hand building. Students will learn various techniques regarding throwing on the pottery wheel, including centering, pulling, and shaping to create unique clay pieces. Students will also learn the basics for hand-building ceramic projects, including various techniques, like sculpting, and slab clay construction. Campers will experiment with underglazes, adding vibrant colors and designs to their creations.
All the creations made by our young artists will be fired and glazed by Radius staff, and available for pickup four weeks after each 5 week session during our open studio hours. You will have one month after the original pickup date to come grab them during our open studio hours.
We recommend packing a daily snack to keep the creativity flowing!
